Strategic Growth Through SEO

Early in 2023, Bear Vault entered into a partnership with Petrichor Freelance. Their goal was simply — nurture growth by attracting organic traffic with strategic blogs optimized for search engines. The most impactful article garnered 1.3 million impressions over a single 12-month period and earned a high-quality backlink from SportsIllustrated Outdoors. The client collaborated on over 50 search engine optimized articles throughout the life of their contract, boosting domain authority and improving their website’s position in the SERP with both branded and non-branded search terms.

Ultra-Specific Keywords

Using keyword research to find quality, long tail phrases to target, we were able to offer readers an experience tailored to their precise searches. Each blog answered commonly asked questions while also offering niche knowledge to an audience looking to grow in their understanding of the outdoors, camping, and backpacking.

Quality interactions with the audience communicate to search bots that the page is helping the searcher, boosting its position and building site authority. Keeping reader’s on-page is important, even if they don’t ever become customers. Engaging material with a personable approach meets them where they’re at and builds trust.

High-Volume Keywords

Using a single post to place multiple high-volume keywords in headlines is a great way to tap untold monthly search volume. It’s hard to even grasp how many people you can get in front of with this strategy, and BearVault decided it was worth a shot with several themed blogs focused on location searches.

These articles aimed to educate readers about specific parks or campgrounds and tied in neatly with their product.

Choosing to strategically select park and trail names that are of interest to the client’s target audience helps answer their questions and lets them know that this brand has their back.

Industry Keywords

Brands occasionally see opportunity to speak into an industry-specific topic their base cares about. These may not be words with a high search volume, but taking the time to address relevant issues can establish a business as an authority in their field. Using their blog to communicate their position builds brand identity and also offers their audience something tangible to share if they want to make a statement of their own.

This article did just that, diving into a controversial topic in the backpacking/camping/travel world. Taking a balanced approach that sees both sides, but gives tangible steps to follow to engage responsibly with Nature, hit just the right note for this client.
